Some Angels Knocked On My Door Today

With only a pair of hands, a pair of legs, a pair of eyes, a body with a head sitting on top of it, how far can one stretch. For the past 3 weeks since I came back from India, it had been mind and nerve cracking, trying to piece and gel everything to the best that I can. It had been meetings, computer work, raising funds, making necessary phone calls, mind boggling flyer and poster designing – all to get things running for January’s Tibetan Medicine, Herbs, Arts & Culture Tour by Minam Rinpoche.

Everyone has a breaking point and I guess last night my bubble burst. I found tears rolling down my cheeks but I was not sad or disheartened or feeling low. It was just tears welling up due to too much pressure (ha ha I got my pressure normalized now – its 125/79 versus 105/68 before). With tears streaming down I was actually laughing while talking to my daughter.

Today some ‘angels’ knocked on my door. They were people I just got to know and someone I don’t even know except for one exchange of email in the afternoon. For the past weeks I only saw my own footprint and occasionally another set but today I felt comforted with all the footprints.

Thanks to all these people who touched my life today.

Building Friendship Thru My Book Sale

My online book sale has led me to meet some people which I feel may develop into a friendship. Today I met up with an online purchaser. We discussed many topics and issues over a drink and promised to get together again another time. And I was paid more than what was due to me. Thank you!!!!!!

The 3 Best Friends - The 3 Eternal Friends - The 2 Dharma Friends

I suppose this scenario can only be witnessed in India. Who are the 3 best friends and who are the eternal ones. The 3 best friends are the dog, the cow and the pig and eternally yours are the goat, chicken and the fish. Yours in Dharma is the dog and the cat.

In India the cow is a sacred animal and they are reared for their milk only. The pig is a scavenger of rubbish dumps that even the poorest of the poor will try avoid eating the meat as it contains harmful bacteria. And of course eating dog meat is unheard of unless you are a chinese. So these 3 animals are free to roam and one can find them at rubbish dumps (yes cows at rubbish dumps and not at green grassy fields), each finding their own morsel. They call it a day after they are done with their meals and most likely their parting words are "see you tomorrow". (picture will be uploaded at a later date)

On the other hand the 3 eternal friends are together not by choice but by circumstance. They count their blessings of spending each minute with one another and if they can end their day together their parting words will most likely be "hope to make it through again tomorrow". This group of friends are not free to roam but are caged. Their fate lies in the hands of those visiting their abode. Or rather it lies in the hands of the slaughterer when he starts his work in the morning.

A picture speaks a thousand words.

A Just Friend - A True Friend

Are you my Just Friend or True Friend!!!

A Just Friend says ....hi, ....hello, ...bye, ...and walks away...
A True friend always stops by your side & asks how r u doing?

A Just Friend has never seen you cry.

A True friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A Just Friend thinks the friendship is over, when you have an argument.

A True friend knows that it's not a friendship, until after you've had a fight.

A Just Friend hates it when you call, after he/she has gone to bed.

A True friend asks you.... why you took so long to call.

A Just Friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.

A True friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself/herself.

A Just Friend jealous about your romantic history.

A True friend wonders of your love story.....

A Just Friend expects you to be always there for any help.

A True friend is always there, wherever you require any help.

A Just Friend doesn't have time in his/her busy schedule,

A True friend always have time for you in his/her busy schedules... .

A Just Friend phones you whenever he/she has some work,

A True friend calls you often just to hear your voice.....

A Just Friend doesn't have anything to talk to you on phone,

A True friend doesn't know...what all to finish...

Call On Me

Some time last week I was going through all my wrapped up crystal stocks. It suddenly dawned on me the time and effort taken to wrap all the crystals up; big and small. This was done by a friend who silently went up to Tara Touch whenever she found time to help me do all the packing prior to my moving out.

All the years at Tara she had been there both silently and loudly and had been the live wire of those times. Considerate, warm, thoughtful, caring .... yes, I have nothing but nice thoughts of her. After Tara disbanded she still remains the same, nothing in her changed except that there is no catching up physically.
She is yet another Treasure to my list.

Thanks mate for being there always when I needed a hand. Please know that I will always be there for you too.

My Treasures

There are some people in my life who really make a difference. I appreciate and feel blessed to have them in my life.

You brighten up a room just by walking in. Talking to you on the phone makes my day. You make me feel special as you often go out of your way for me. You cry with me and you laugh with me. When I am on top of the world you celebrate with me. When I am down you are there for me.

We seldom catch up - once a month or maybe even longer or during puja times. But I know you will be there when I need a shoulder. A friend once described you as "a rock in the ocean". Always generous to good causes.

You are thoughtful. You move with an air of confidence yet keep pride in its place. We search for every nook and corner in town for food. You laughter chase clouds away and your kind thoughts bring happiness to life.

Someone who is not afraid to do more than your part, to learn something new, to fail, to succeed, to take chances, to dream, to say you are wrong, to forgive. Throughout our friendship, I have never heard a harsh word from you about others. You believed in the saying "if you have nothing nice to say about a person, then its best to remain silent". I admire these things about you. They set you apart from many people.

Friendship

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence
He said, You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence.
The fence will never be the same.

When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can't put a knife in a man and draw it out without leaving a wound in his body. It won't matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry', the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Friends are very rare jewels, indeed.
They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear,
they share words of praise and they always open their hearts to us.
A friend just opened his heart and shared with me yesterday on the passing on of a mutual friend. His words were simple .....
"Remember, there is always a gift. Find out what he needed you to know and to learn, or quality to develop. Then he would have fulfilled his part of the contract with you" . Thanks!!!!!

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole

Friendship's Flower by Helen Steiner Rice

Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.
And lovely are the blossoms

That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,

Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship

Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.

Friendship

People get so caught up with life that they are actually taking years away from their life and life away from their years. They have sold their souls in exchange for the $ race

Tonight I caught up for dinner with Ganesh, Uma and their dad. It was a simple dinner but the chats were intimate. It touches the soul of a person.

Friendship is a warm smile in winter.
